Venus Starr is an international model and starlet born and raised in Noosa Heads, Queensland. Venus has since moved to New Zealand to train with a Russian circus trainer. She trained and received her diploma at circus school. Aside from being an international model, this living tattooed barbie is also a circus showgirl, aerialist, hoola hoopist, burlesque dancer and entertainer extraordinaire! Not to mention that she has also done a lot of character and acting work within shows.
Venus has been performing since the age of five. With the inspiration from her friends and push from her family, she chose to pursue it as a serious career. Not only did her family give her that extra push, but Venus naturally has performing in her blood; she lived with circus folk and aerialists back in Brisbane.
Venus has been in the entertainment industry for over 10 years, headlining top tattoo and burlesque festivals all around the world. Within these 10 years Venus found the time to create, produce and direct New Zealand’s number one burlesque cabaret,Carousel! Recently, Venus has been contracted as a lead role in WOW [World of Wearable Arts] in New Zealand; a huge stage production of wearable arts with an audience of up to 150,000 people. She has done a wide range of events from headlining the fetish ball to judging Miss Tattoo NZ. It helps that Venus is a very open minded and flexible performer; able to fit into whatever the event requires. You can also find her as the feature performer in Calendar Girls NZ. To some it may seem as though Venus has it all, but as with any other successful career – Venus had to ‘earn her stripes’ to get her where she is at today.
